DR LEO KYI

Consultant Rheumatologist

Dr Leo Kyi graduated from Monash University in 2009. He undertook physician training at Monash Health in Melbourne, and completed specialist rheumatology training at Monash Health and Royal Hobart Hospital in Tasmania. Throughout his training, Leo has exposure to working in regional Victoria, worked in a variety of settings in Mildura, West and Central Gippsland and also interstate in Hobart.

In Rheumatology, Leo has a wide range of interests including connective tissue diseases and inflammatory arthritis such as rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis and a variety of musculoskeletal medicine including osteoarthritis and gout.

Leo has maintained a strong interest in working in general medicine that started during his training years but has continued as a consultant. He is well experienced in managing chronic illness and adopts a holistic approach to his practice.

Leo has a passion for teaching and education. Currently, he also works at Monash Health Department of Medicine, where he has teaching and supervisory roles for medical students and junior staff medical staff that are training to become specialists. His interest in education also extends to the community, and he believes greatly in empowering patients and informing the community about musculoskeletal health.

Outside of work, Leo is a keen photographer, and he enjoys spending time with his young family at home.
